Well it’s six o’clock and we are in Deer Lodge, MT for the night. Peaceful little town with what looks to be some sort of event going on. I hear it’s a BBQ and brews thing. Neat! Gonna go check that out.
Got a nice little spot on the river. It’s just inside town but at least we got the water, which is nice.

How do you like the Hi-Lo? I saw a big one like that for sale recently and was wondering about it. How heavy is it?

I love it! SOOOO easy to trailer. Storage space is minimal, but that’s my only complaint
Mine is a 1997 24D. It’s 4100 dry, 6600 loaded. Not light but that’s the price you pay for having all those hydraulics.

How well built is it? I’ve owned two campers now, and they’re both built like piles of hot garbage.

It was built well. They are designed to withstand those ram actions up and down hundreds of thousands of times. That said, even with the reinforcement they *feel* light. They have a full steel frame with thick crossmembers unlike the plywood build of others its age. They do try to save weight in wallboard thickness and the lower half-door is kinda poo, but the walls are no big deal (I’m not hanging pictures in the thing) and the door is simple enough to fabricate a replacement ones self.

I wanted to! Unfortunately we are too late. Gonna try to wrap that in on the return trip

The trailer on the back goes up and down, up and down, up and down....
